1. Acceptance
By using QuietTheMowers.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. The Platform
Quiet The Mowers is a civic-tech platform that provides tools for community organizing, petition creation, noise measurement, and advocacy. The platform facilitates civic engagement but does not provide legal advice.
3. User Conduct
When using the platform, you agree:
- To provide accurate information when signing petitions
- Not to use the platform for harassment, spam, or illegal purposes
- Not to submit false or misleading measurement data
- To respect other users and engage constructively in discussions
4. Campaigns & Petitions
- Organizers are responsible for the content of their campaigns.
- Quiet The Mowers does not endorse any specific campaign, organizer, or policy position.
- We reserve the right to remove campaigns that violate these terms.
- Petition signature counts are public and verifiable.
5. Measurement Data
Noise measurements uploaded to the platform are for advocacy and awareness purposes. They may not meet the standards required for legal evidence. Users should not rely on platform-hosted measurements as the sole basis for legal proceedings without independent verification.
6. Device Rental Program
- Rental devices remain the property of Quiet The Mowers.
- Users are responsible for the device during the rental period and must return it by the agreed date.
- Lost or damaged devices may be subject to replacement fees.
- Calibration is best-effort. Users should verify calibration status before use in formal settings.
7. Intellectual Property
The ordinance library, measurement protocol, campaign templates, and shareable assets are made available for public use. You may adapt them for your own advocacy. Attribution is appreciated but not required.
8. Limitation of Liability
Quiet The Mowers provides the platform "as is." We are not liable for the outcomes of campaigns, the accuracy of user-submitted data, or decisions made by government bodies based on platform content.
9. Moderation
We moderate testimonials, comments, and campaigns to maintain a constructive community. We may remove content that violates our moderation policy. Repeated violations may result in account suspension.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Significant changes will be communicated via email to registered users.
